Gigabyte is clearly hoping to make a mark for itself in the notebook market by launching a very light model, ultrabook X11. Gigabyte X11 owns a pretty audacious claim; its svelte 975g weight has created a buzz all around and Gigabyte calls the system an ultrabook. Emerging classes of thin and light laptops are introduced last year to help the PC industry compete better against the iPad and other tablets.
It is built around a 3rd-Gen Intel Core processor and has a 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display , the X11 measures a waifish 3mm at its thinnest (16.5mm at its thickest) and weighs 2.15 pound, with Gigabyte promising street pricing of $999 to $1,299 when it hits the market in July.

Features and Configuration
Super Car Model
According to Gigabyte the new laptop takes inspiration “from super cars models”. The all carbon model has made X11 light but solid. Also the designers have significantly stretched out two sleek curves on the chassis with the cues of a sports car. The dual air vents design efficiently exports the heat off the laptop. With the race car-inspired version, which has a fading “Woven Diamond” pattern already out, Gigabyte will eventually offer an all-black version as well.
Keyboard, Display and Track pad
The company boasts of 95% full size island keyboard, thereby increasing the distance between each key, but as with most 11-inch laptops it also a few squished keys. The “glass-fiber” touchpad has a nice smooth surface and responds well to simple taps. The touchpad and screen bezel don’t feature the carbon fiber pattern, but they’re at least matte rather than glossy.
Memory & Graphics
X11 comes with a Non-expandable 128GB mSATA SSD, 4GB of DDR3 memory, Mobile Intel HM77 Express chipset with Intel HD Graphics 4000, as the memory chips are soldered on to the motherboard.
Connectivity
It includes one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0, Mini Display Port, a combo audio in/out port, a micro SD card slot and there’s Wi-Fi b/g/n with latest Bluetooth 4.0.

3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors boosts its performance, save more power, and aid in intelligent multi-tasking. X11 is available with Ivy Bridge Core i5-3317U CPU and Core i7-3517U CPU processors. Also, the built-in Intel Rapid Start, Intel Identity Protection and Intel Anti-Theft Technology enhance the data security of notebook.

X11 comes with a Li-Polymer battery with specification as 4730mAh, 7.4V & 35 Watt-hours (Wh).
Operating System
