Last week, Windows Phone marketplace crosses 90,000 apps and maintaining a steady pace over the last year. According to “All About Windows Phone”, 250 apps are published each day and 6,936 were added in last 30 days. Currently 92,383 apps have been published from just over 22,000 different publishers. If the same pace will be maintained then Marketplace will reach “100,000” milestone in June only.

Milestones
| May 15,2012 | More than 90,000 |
| March 26, 2012 | 80,000 |
| February 23, 2012 | 70,000 |
| January 22, 2012 | 60,000 |
| December 27, 2011 | 50,000 |
The total number of published apps is not same as the number of apps available to consumers because over 10,500 apps are removed by Microsoft or by publishers and many of them are only available in selected markets.
The proportion of free apps has been increasing slowly and reaches to 68%. It’s all because of the availability of advertising SDK for Windows Phone and different promotion campaign.
The thing which is major to concern is the quality of the apps, according to the obtained data of UK Marketplace just over 5,800 apps out of 73,471 have been rated 5 or more times. This means the proportion of quality apps is just over 8% of the Marketplace.
All About Windows Phone uses their own app tracking system to detect total published apps in Marketplace.
